Just a little misleading. Should have said "hosteling" not "firing".. The 261 has a stoker. No way you could fire it by hand on the road..........maybe, with two guys full time.
I need more steam in my life but my Dad said who is in the Insurance Industry said if they past lieability reaform we could get more steamers. AmtrakFan
If Congress passes a pay raise for the military, I could get more steamers... OK, OK, I know that was a bad joke...

When I went to Nevada State Railroad Museum I took pictures of all the Virginia and Truckee locomotive models they had inside. Unfortunately some of the images are a little blurry. I know its not real steam, but being some of them are lost to time, it’s as close as I’ll ever get. The rest are here http://sonnet1.sonnet.com/usr/curn/coll/vtrr/
Has product endorsement gone too far? The web site where I found this has all kinds of steam engines that were butchered in photo shop.
Russell, not to worry. The 261 crew ran her through the Polar Express shops and restored her back to normal before putting her to bed for the rest of the year. I've been converting some of this year's shots to black and white. It just goes with steam.
Here is an oldie that is just an example of D&H Steam being heavly posted in the D&H Fallen Flags forum here at TrainBoard. Check out those posting if you want to see allot of Steam going back well over 100 Years #384 at Eagle Bridge, NY
