We are going to offer a couple of informal Christmas contests without a lot of complicated rules. The prizes will be a DVD from one of our DVD advertisers, Pentrex, Green Frog, or Greg Scholl Video Productions. Check out their sites and you will find loads of great railroad DVD's. I must confess that I am personally addicted to watching these. Our railfan photo contest is "best holiday shot". Beyond that, not many rules - post a railroad related photo that puts us in the holiday spirit. I realize that the days of steam engines pulling up to stations decked out for Christmas in the blowing snow are all gone but there are still good shots to be found. The only real rule is that the photo must be taken after the time that this topic was posted, so please don't pull out an old photo. Also, you have to be the photogrpaher. I will appoint a couple of non-partisan judges to rule over this and we will announce the results around New Year's. Your entry will be judged based on a single photo. You may post more than one photo but a single photo will be the winner so don't feel that you have a better chance by bombing the thread with photos. Please post your entry in this thread. Good luck and Merry Christmas! Charlie
Everyone except the judges may participate, and staff members will not be given any preferred treatment (I can assure everyone). Charlie
Howdy: I just signed onto the board - how do I post a photo in the Xmas scene contest? Or anywhere else? Thanks! Bob Boudreau
Bob, Welcome to trainboard, to post pics you need to upload your pics to a website or an online gallery, We provide an free online album at www.railimages.com all you need to do is apply for an account. Once you have uploaded the pics you can repost here, there are instructions on the rail images site on how to do this.

Here's my entry - a brand new NS Gray Ghost waits at Maud, Ohio on Christmas Eve on the point of a grain train. I took this photo today, on the way to church. The train had 3 of these brand new beauties on the point!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! This is Puffy, the 2-6-0 steam engine belonging to the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, formerly the "Tarantula". Puffy has been out of service for several months, so I was quite suprised to find him leading the excursion train on December 17.
