Looking at details--A CHALLENGE.

    This may be similar to my "More Than Trains" theme of a couple of years ago, However, this time, I challenge you to look even closer at and around railroad equipment. So, get out those telephoto lenses and/or macro, close-up, lenses and see what you can discover. Get in close, very close. How close? In this shot of a broken weld on a discarded passenger truck, the lens-to-subject distance was about two inches.

    In conatrast, the lens-to-subject distance for this dent in the roof of an RS-11 cab was about 20 feet.

    In West Ryde, NSW, I took this picture from the platform. I just liked the building, the semaphore and the attendant items along the track.

    Great shots. It is amazing how clean these are, especially anything on the trucks.
