This may be similar to my "More Than Trains" theme of a couple of years ago, However, this time, I challenge you to look even closer at and around railroad equipment. So, get out those telephoto lenses and/or macro, close-up, lenses and see what you can discover. Get in close, very close. How close? In this shot of a broken weld on a discarded passenger truck, the lens-to-subject distance was about two inches. In conatrast, the lens-to-subject distance for this dent in the roof of an RS-11 cab was about 20 feet. [ May 16, 2005, 10:03 AM: Message edited by: Peirce ]
In West Ryde, NSW, I took this picture from the platform. I just liked the building, the semaphore and the attendant items along the track. Gives me some modeling ideas.
Ohio Central FP9 - close enough to see the scratches on that pretty paint :-( Chris ----------------------------------------------------- Railroad Equipment Close-Ups CD http://www.dataviewbooks.com/rr.html Railroad Merchandise http://www.cafepress.com/dataview3/505807
This is part of the linkage for the boom of the double-ended crane, originally built for use in the tunnels of Grand Central Terminal. Can you find it on the unit?
