Hi folks! I would like to see photos of some of the old NYC electric locomotives like the ones that ran between Harmon and G.C. terminal such as the P Class, R Class and T Class. I have several of these models all of which need painting. I have seen photos on the Trainboard in the past.........I believe Lady Sunshine had some. Thanks, Howard
Howard, I used to have a pile of them, but sent them off to an NYC fan in New York, as I am pretty much a steam fan. At any rate, George Elwood's always helpful site has a bunch of photos. Try this link: http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/nyc/nyc-elec.html
Jim, Thank you so very much for that link. I was in pig heaven looking at them while I had morning coffee. I have 2 P2b's. 1 R-2, and 1 T class. Only the R-2 is painted. Could you give me any advice on taking them apart for painting? I would like to install glazing and a motorman in each. Thanks again, Howard
On taking them apart I can be of no help. The only modeling I do is 12 inch to the foot steam, as in operating steam. I'm sure someone else will pipe up. Try posting that request on one of the modeling forums, HO or N, whatever gauge they are.
Howard, It has been some time since I have been around, what sort of progress have you made on your endeavor. I have some experience with these engines. Bob
