View of an active yard, about 24yrs ago...taken from a pedestrian bridge ( I was politely asked to leave shortly after I took this shot ) . The yard hasn't functioned as a marshalling yard for years..and the locomotive facility, was just shut down last week. Its suppose to be turned into a park or something similar.
What a great picture!! 30 degrees F? -1 C? But not at Taylor Yard But it looks SP. I can see the red nose of the engine and the orange ends of a bay window caboose. I can't see the river along side the yard, but it is probably just out of the picture. Also, in the foreground, there is a boxcar with the roofwalk supports still in place. The stanchions in the ground on the right may be where the old caboose row used to be. This is a great picture for modeling a yard!! [ January 16, 2006, 06:21 AM: Message edited by: sapacif ]
It's obviously a yard tower & the number board is for 2 digits only,so could it denote point #30?or yard track #30? for the switching crew?
