I visited Caldwell in 1981 on my way to a Lone Star Region NMRA convention following the Santa Fe as close as possible.
The Santa Fe in Caldwell had a "Gay Nineties" half-timbered station. ("Had"? I hope it is still there but I don't know.) I can't image building a new depot since then.
Santa Fe had a grade separated crossing over the Southern Pacific.

A color shot of the depot appears in Santa Fe in the Lone Star State vol.1 p.129
