That's the closest I have ever seen of upper & under meet at the C&S overpass in Chey-oming... Nice catch, Bob, and a H1 on the point!!!! At the summit of the Continental Divide, marked by a large sign to the north side of the tracks, a BNSF Laurel-Spokane manifest and a LM *Laurel-Missoula* MRL manifest doubled up the east slope of Mullan Pass, and meet a BNSF grain empty at Blossburg Siding:
There's just something different about a Class 2 railroad having such powerful units. But MRL's scheme seems to make every locomotive look great!
Meet or Met? Here is a little different take on the topic. Will you accept the past tense? An empty coal train drifts down grade while a manifest almost has the hill conquered. The two trains met at Windy Point.
I see 2 trains in the shot--looks like a legal meet to me! Did you happen to visit the ralfan ranch near Windy Pt?
Hemi I did stay at the ranch. It is a little pricey, but you are a mile from the tracks with freedom to go anywhere you want basically. They charge $100 a night with breakfast in the morning. Maybe you could stay somewhere cheaper. They charge for day use also at $25 a day for 2 people. So by the time you pay for a place to stay, even camping, and then pay for food and access to the ranch, it seems you might as well stay at the ranch. The cabin sleeps 8, has a kitchen and shower, so if a large group of railfans got together it would definitely be worth it!
9807 west meets a eastman at Woodford. east Swift Roadrailer with SD9 meets the stopped SYNTAC at Mojave. Thom
Inbound and Outbound Eurostars cross near Wandsworth Road in South London, with just a hint of glint from the setting sun.
Another from the same location - on the left 465043 is inbound to London Victoria, in the centre 375909 is overtaking 466022 (right), both on trains outbound from Victoria in the evening rush.
