Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew how i could get my hands on a couple particular issues of the COHS magazine. The ones i'm looking for are August 1994 and February 1998. These have articles either about or including info on my grandfather, Sergei Guins. If you have any info on how i can get my paws on these, it would be appreciated :)
    Thanks,
    Gen

Gen have you tried to contact the COHS directly? They should have those issues still on hand.

    hope this helps

    Contacted them

Hi, Yes, I sent them an email and no response yet. These articles are just something I would like to have around for my family reunion this summer, and to put in a scrapbook for my dad.
    Thanks for the suggestion!

You're probably best off to give 'em a call!!
Don't waste time waiting on an E-Mail reply!
I inquired about pics of the C&O M-1 steam turbine.
Have the MTH 3 rail version. Wanted photos of the proto!
Took 2-3 MONTHS to get a reply!!
But yet, they can send me a catalog in the mail every so often, but can't answer a simple request?? Personally, I'm leary about going back, or attempting ANY sortof contact - Phone, snail mail etc.....Because of the lack of courtesy in responding.

MY opinion only, based on personal experience. Take it for what it's worth. Which ain't much.

The COHS has recently lost their long-time director of administration, Margaret T. Whittington, but the new guy, Mac Beard, should be answering the phone. I've had good results talking to Brandy, the office assistant.

For back issues, please write to Stuart Hallett, 120 Stonewall Place, Newport News, VA 23606. I've gotten lots of helpful info from him in the past, including a complete set of all back issues of the magazine.
