    Caught this pair of SD40-2's set out near midnight on a spur track at UP's Valley yard last night. They were illuminated by an inbound local.

    I like this picture, the engines appear to be moving but I think it's the lights of the approaching engine that is moving.

    I think Charlie is right about "award winning."

    Thanks for the compliments gang!

    The second unit is infact an SP unit, SD40-2M #8621, still unpatched, I didn't notice that before , you have better eyes than I have!!

    I just kinda fiddle around with the camera and its settings. I was taking pics of the units framed as a silhouette against the city lights when the inbound local showed up. So the aperature (F-22) wasn't exactly the right one for this pic. I probably would have had a better image at maybe F13? That is the cool part about digital, you can keep fussing with the image...or simply delete it.
