Traffic in downtown Roseburg got backed up on both sides of the railroad tracks yesterday. According to local radio news reports a Southbound Central Oregon & Pacific train derailed just North of the downtown yard. Washington and Oak Streets were blocked starting at 2:30PM. CORP crews were on the scene right away and was assisted by City of Roseburg Pubic Works and Roseburg Police Department rerouting traffic in the area. Traffic was backed up from Downtown to I-5 until just after 4PM. Cause of the derailment is under investigation.
