I just wanted to come in and say Hi. Im new on here but have been a fan of trains and model railroading since I was a little kid. I plan on being around and asking some questions that you guys might be able to help with down the road. I grew up just outside of Det. so my Fav. Rail company is GTW and it helped that my neighbor worked for them!! Well I just wanted to say and look forward to getting to know some of you guys.. Thanks James
Welcome aboard James!!! Please feel free to ask your questions or share your pics and knowledge. What do you model? Railfan?
Hi James, Glad to have you aboard. Ask any and as many questions as you want, you'll get a bunch of good answers, possibly all different, but always interesting. I'm sure that you will have answers to our question too, so don't be shy....!
Thanks guys for the welcome. I don't currently have any pics let alone a set up as of yet. I want to get ideas for when me and my wife move back to Wis. I would like to know if any one has pics of a set up that runs like a boarder around the room. 1 other question since my mainline is GTW/CN I would like to know if anyone would be able to recomend someone or hobby shops that do custom painting, as I would like to get a few engines painted in those road names. Thanks for any info you can provide!!
Welcome to Trainboard!! We all help each other here and a friendlier group you will not find!! Look forward to hearing more from you. John
Here's a site you might already know about - it's very helpful for Michigan railfans: http://www.michiganrailroads.com/index.htm
First, welcome to Trainboard! I see both GTW and CN stuff on a daily basis. Have you picked a scale? I custom paint but in N only, I'm also down the road from you in Northern IL. You will learn a lot here so don't be afraid to ask!
Im doing HO scale. Could you let me know What GTW stuff you find. Just looking for a few Loco's right now. I used to be down the road from you now I'm in HOT AZ..
