I realize that it's now Wednesday, not Monday. The weekend was spent setting up and operating a FreeMo layout at Rochester NY. The Rochester Institute of Technology was our gracious host. We ended up with about 200+ ft of mainline. We ran yard to yard and had a 3 1/2 hour operating session using car cards and waybills. Participants came from Ohio, New Hampshire, Ontario (Canada), and upper New York State. We are already planning our next run session next spring! Thanks for letting me ramble! FreeMo Tim
Personally, I'm happy to hear of what others have done no matter what day it is. The idea of a Monday report is just a convenience. Ed
I finally have all the finishing touches done to my GHQ log truck and photos have been taken. However I need to figure out now how to reduce the file size to less than 100K so I can post them.
No problem. Sometimes I leave off the [humor][/humor] tags myself. You'll get another shot at this week's Monday accomplishments thread starting tomorrow!! :teeth: Ed
Dont know if this counts as modeling accomplishments or not, but here goes.... I took another look at my benchwork plan ....as planned and tweaked the calculations. And today, I finally purchased the lumber for the Canton Divison. I am expecting construction to start this weekend (7-8 Oct). I ended up buying a inexpensive workbench and circular saw. As I calculated the total number of cuts including risers....well it was way too expensive even at .25 a cut. Other household projects are also in flight so time is shared between them and the railroad. Right now, household projects take priority with exception of getting the cuts made. I will try and do some test cuts indoors to see how much sawdust is made.....if it is too much, I will need to do the cuts outdoors. Today was a beuatiful day in the Twin Cities but the rest of the week is calling for rain into the weekend. It is a race against mother nature now....soon snow will be here
OH SNAP!!! I posted this on the wrong weekend accomplishment!! Above post is for weekend 30 SEP - 1 OCT
