This weekend is Homecoming for the Drexel Hill Raiders. My son’s squad; the Pee Wee Varsity, will be hosting the Chichester Crusaders in the morning. The afternoon will be taken up by my daughter’s birthday party. Not sure what the rest of the weekend holds. Modelingwise, I would like to get to Home Depot and get more pink foam. I would like to start the outline of the hill that the town will rest on. If that does not work I could start on shaping the hillsides on the valley side of the tracks. I still have that caboose to weather and coal loads to make.
working through unitl Tuesday, but everynow and then I have been working on my Street Running Module which is a single track version of Jack London Square in Oakland Ca. Will be heading to the Hurstville model railway Exhibition tomorrow after work it's nice that it's only a couple of blocks away from my home will be purchasing B'day pressies for myself and my dad while there.
I plan on getting most of the end railings completed on my BN transer caboose on sunday as on Sat I shall be having an Airsoft skirmish.
It's a long weekend here in Sydney, I'm hoping to do some more owrk on the HO SBW Caboose. On monday I will be heading to the Sydney Model Railway Exhibiton and will post some pics on Monday.
Going to the carpet store. Plan on having the carpet laid down next week. Also continued effort on the new workbench. Woo Hoo, I can't wait to get this going! Also continued work on a formal written plan.
Rrrr is coming up. We plan to learn soldering and other wiring Build Crude mockup of Veteran's Mount which will be 5 feet tall. Make that 4 feet 10 inches with a 2 inch flag on top. Maybe start on a proof of concept for my "cassette storage" system.
I'm going to finish my trackplan design and see if i can get building my new layout over the next week. Managed to score a week off work to get it started.
I hope to get to the Chicago Historical Society museum reopening tomorrow to see the oldest L car and Pioneer in their new exhibits. On Sunday I'll be attending the NMRA MWR Board of Directors meeting in Rockford, after which I'll be attending the RRVD meeting. So, it's pretty doubtful that I'll be building anything unless I don't go to the museum tomorrow (which is a distinct possibility).
Well I finally finished assembling that Intermountain N scale tank car kit. That was a minor miracle in itself. So now I'm going to take another leap and try my hand at weathering that car!! mg: This will be my first attempt at dirtying something up. I'm still going through my usual procrastination issues, but I'm determined to plunge ahead. Actually, first I'm going to try a practice run using an old Fine N Scale tank that I've been using as an elevated fuel oil storage tank. I figure that will be easier to clean off if I really screw it up. Regards Ed
Train Meet on Sunday, then get to sleep in because Monday is Yom Kapur! (sorry for the spelling) I gotta fix a lilttle track piece that my dad broke last week, some more ballasting and track work. Oh yea, and watch some train videos!
I'm going to make some unit trains. I'm tired of Accumates falling apart. I'll drawbar together four cars, with MTs on each end.
I’m going to clean my basement/garage and hopefully get rid of over half of what I have down here. Then I’m going to get to work on the big question HO or N. I’m going on a vacation in two weeks and will have the chance to compare HO and N scale layout side by side to see what I really do want. Lucas Barnlund Sitka, Alaska
CHOOCH, That's the way I'm leaning. When I first chose N scale 10 years ago I walked into the club in Anchorage looked at the HO layout, looked at the N scale layout and I knew that N scale was for me at that time. I have been collecting some HO and have some N left over from a large selloff last winter. My kids and wife want HO I like both HO and N but I have to get around a couple of layouts to see if I can get out of HO what I want in the room I have. I have just recently listened to my wife an decided to build a 2'x24' layout against one wall, most likely dogbone with one or two towns to switch in. Lucas
I will take another look at my benchwork plan and finalize the required parts list. Then I have to see where I can plug the benchwork into the budget. Household projects sucked up the left over funds at Menards from the electrical wiring project. Oh well, still a good cause.
