Excellent I went to bed last night with Charlie pulling his hair out as he couldnt get the site to work, i'm releived to see its back up and running.
So, is it correct to assume that Railimages has also moved to a new server and we won't have so many outages as long as we pay the electric bill?
Well our total aim is to have both on the same server which i think is the case now I just have to get Charlie to confirm. We are hoping once we sort the bugs out that trainboard will be faster and have less issues with email problems for new members. We didnt have much of an option but to shutdown and backup the site before the old isp removed us. Thanks to charlie and the time he has spent of the last couple of days he was able to get us back up and running.
No, actually TrainBoard moved to the same spot as RailImages. Both of those sites will move to a semi-dedicated server in about 2 weeks if the new servers are installed. That should solve some problems. If we can increase revenue a little, we can go to a total dedicated server this summer. We still have a couple of problems on here so bear with us for ther next few days while we find and fix bugs. I should mention that Charles Capps, the developer of the software that drives the site, had to fix it for us. We ran into a couple of weird things and he knew what to do. This kind of help is directly due to our participation with Infopop's beta testing program. We are one of just a small handfull of sites (about 10) that is always running non-public versions of the UBB software. Charlie
Yaaay, just in time for me to leave town for a few days. Maybe I can log on at the motel where I will be staying. Good luck with the bugs!!
Yippee!!!!!! So glad to be over my withdrawal symptoms! Thank you, Charlie!!! Boxcab E50 [ 25. June 2004, 05:40: Message edited by: BoxcabE50 ]
thanks guys, its hard work and determination like yours that we can always count on to help me waste countless hours in class -Rob
Thanks, guys. I appreciate your problems in switching over. But you did it really fast! I'm not going to be as active as before, as I just have too much real work to do through the summer. Also I figure a little hiatus will let me get my head on a bit straighter about these things called forums. Pete
Great work guys! It came back quicker than you said. I don't know where everyone went while Trainboard was in transition, because I certainly didn't notice any increase in activity in the couple of other forums I post at. Maybe everyone just sucked it up and waited?
