    I just got one in the mail that I had won on ebay. My question is, should there be a large gap between the rails at the center of the cross over. I have never seen one in person and I really can't tell from photos online. Anyone who has one and can let me know if this is correct. Just to clarify. The outer rails that run straight thru are continuous. But where the rails meet in the middle of the crossover, there is the gap.

    Yes.

    All four points are isolated from each other by doing that. The crossover needs power for all four points so you may want to have power supply drops nearby for electrical continuity. The internal wiring of the crossover will connect the appropriate rails with power depending on how the points are thrown. You need to be careful with potentially creating a reverse loop situation which will require some special wiring (even with DCC???).

    Thanks Joe. I was a little worried. The crossover was advertised as in good condition. Thought I'd gotten taken. Now to go leave some postive feedback.

    This Kato crossover is fantastic.... Works great every time! I am very happy with the quality of the Kato track system, especially the switches (and crossovers).

    Coasterp:

    That;s the correct configuration. I have four Kato double crossovers on the JJJ&E and they operate flawlessly.

    Stay cool and run steam......:cool::cool:
