    To all:
I am having trouble finding Milwaukee Road passenger cars, so, I have bought a GHQ brass car sides and also have the core passenger kit.
My question: How do you prepare metal to paint? Do you use model primer? I am used to building model cars and you use primer. I will be using Floquil water based paint.
    Thanks to all that reply.

I've used a primer, a type you get in auto shops.
And I baked the model in the stove.

80°C was with CA glue no problem. I had used it.

My first airbrushing of brass did not go well at all! I used a primer and I cannot get the paint to stick!!!!!!!!!! I used floquil acrylic paint. I would love to use enamel but I cannot find it in MILW colors!
    Very frustrating.

I have painted N scale brass with acrylic and had no problems. I did put the brass in a vinegar bath to etch it first.
