    Hi all

This is for the Kiwi's (although if you're across the ditch (Aussie) or the big pond (USA) your most welcome!)

AM-RA = American Model Railroad Association (in New Zealand)

The group I am involved with IAMR - Independent American Model Railroaders - is holding the Bi-annual AM-RA Convention in Auckland New Zealand on our Queens Birthday (June 2nd,3rd & 4th 2007)

There will be: Local Layout Tours,Trade Stands, A “Silent” Auction, How-to Clinics, Forum Discussions, Model Contest, Quiz, Food & Drink with a banquet on the Sunday night! (Also some participation for she who must be obeyed!)

IAMR group is a bunch of like minded guys who various railroads which cover most of the US. These include BNSF, DRGW, GN, METX, NS, SF, SP, SPS plus others - over a period from 1900's to the present!!!

We meet weekly and visit layouts, have video nights, take our N-Trak or HO modular layouts to exhibitions and shows - general enjoy our hobby as much as possible.

If you are in the American scene and want to meet others and learn something feel free to contact either through this post A PDF is available. Also look on www.theflimsy.com for more info or through: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AMRA-Online-NZ/

Have a new page up and running on my work site: http://www.pcsatlarge.co.nz/am-ra.html

    Hi NZ metra nut,

    Welcome to TrainBoard.

I am interested although I am not sure what my plans are for Queen's birthday weekend. I live in Christchurch and am not that keen on travelling to Auckland, but I might?

I am presently building a Ho layout that will run BNSF and UP locos.
My layout is in a 2.5m x 3.5m spare room you can see my progess by clicking on the link at the bottom of my post.

Do you know any modellers here in Christchurch that are into HO modular? This is something that interests me and I would like to get involved in.

    Cheers, Ken.

    AM-RA 2007 Convention

Well guys have a "little" flyer for the AM-RA 2007.
The original is an A5 sized coloured one - due to constraints here its been "blitzed" but still shows the info.

Go to http://www.theflimsy.com/files/amra07_pstr1.pdf to download the form for entry - the committee is hoping to have the registration pack available first week of February.

Will post more later in the month!

    Cheers
    Ramon

ps: hoping for the full versions to be available on www.pcsatlarge.co.nz/am-ra.html by end of the week (update - page now running 25th Jan 2007)

Sorry guys - been a little busy with the business and trying to find a new job! Computers are really screwing my life - so time for a change - anyway to get to the point!

New flyer and registration forms are available on my amra page at http://www.pcsatlarge.co.nz/am-ra.html.

Also www.theflimsy.com should soon have the updated forms.

Like to hear from more Kiwi's
Also Been hitting the local and not so local model shops with posters and flyers. If you come across the poster with no flyers get the shop assistant to contact me - through my website - www.pcsatlarge.co.nz.

Good luck with your convention. Just spent 8 weeks in NZ recently so won't be down for a while. Might make it to the NZAMRC convention in Hawkes Bay next year.

    Hi Robert

Our group had one of our members go down and have a chat with them.
I think it is really going to be a good convention - being for the whole modelling scene. Our convention is a little more specialised being for American Modellers of all scales.

Hope your time in NZ was good and look forward to meeting you at the Hawks Bay NZAMRC convention next year.
