Barb, do you have any idea how the general public in Minnesota feels about the DM&E? Other than the folks in Rochester and the Mayo clinic. I think a third road to move Powder River coal is a good idea. Maybe the general public doesn't even think about railroads any more except to complain about loud horns and atmospheric pollution. :confused2:

Does sort've seem like that doesn't it??? I mean, what's the big deal, there's usually more noise pollution from roads than trains, yet I don't see them opposing roads in the Congress!

Sorta amazed its a Republican congressman, too, usually they're more pro-business...

It is what it is... Standard pandering by a politician who only cares about his fat paycheck/ego/power trip. And a public that is essentially too lazy to look beyond the sound bite, (and completely false), headlines of a proven illiterate and horrendously biased media.

Meanwhile, those same people wail about vehicular pollution, the horrors of road building costs, and effect upon environment. But block every attempt to promote the best, and only viable alternative. Hypocrisy at it's finest!
