These are disturbing images, some of you may not want to see these. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rC8VzVmNPOI"]YouTube - World's Scariest Model Train Wrecks[/ame]
On the other hand, reflecting back 60-65 years, there are memories from my youth that I'm sure the Administrators would prefer I did not to post on this Family Forum....:embarassed:
We just had a 'major' train wreck in Cumbria in the UK (if you hadn't heard; a passenger train left the track at 95mph and went down an embankment). I put 'major' in quotes as out of 100 passengers only one person died (an 80 yo woman) and a handful of others were seriously hurt, so in comparison to a typical air crash or day on the roads this was just a blip. Getting to the point, I was looking at the pictures of the aftermath and thinking "It looks like a model train wreck - a big hand will appear in a minute and put all the coaches back on the track again." because the train looks pretty undamaged (from a distance). So this thread is something of a coincidence.
Good stuff. Here's another horrifying train wreck video that is enough to make anyone cringe! [ame="http://youtube.com/watch?v=xjAb96ncO0o"]YouTube - LGB Model Passenger Train Wreck[/ame]
I loved it! If this technology had been around in 1962, you'd see a lot of planes and ships exploding.
Who, when they were kids had the friend who would always put a car on the track for your new model train to collide with?
LOL!... What a Hoot! A very creative piece of work. Rollingstock, KY. I got to go there...lol... anybody mention Rule G to that guy? Just too funny! "Still Training After All These Years"
