Hello all. I just wanted to post some pics of my projects and see what you think so far. The pics suck because I don't have a good camera but I'll just have to settle with what I have . Some of these are the one's that I had for trade and little by little I'm painting them ( finally ), it's a long process but it's worth the effort. First up is SD60M's in the BN Desart Storm scheme I only made 2 of these because I didn't realize when they initially took off the winter hatch they didn't paint the 3rd fan until latter so another one is in the planning stages now. Second is a pair of SD60M's in the H3 scheme. Third is 3 GP40m's in the H3 scheme. Fourth is 2 GP40M's in the H1 scheme.
Next is a U33C GN BSB. And last but not least is a SDP45 in GN BSB. Any opinion or suggestion is greatly appreciated.
There's better pics on railImages http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=5228
No pictures, but I am either building, painting or decaling the following: LL/Walthers CR Quality GP38-2 Kitbashed/resin shell C30-7A in CR Quality Kitbashed/resin shell C36-7 in CR Ford 9000 crew cab line truck/pole digger Kitbashed/resin GE 44tonner in Grafton and Upton I'll try and get some pics up soon.
Thanks, I know there's only one # sofar. :-( I'm keeping one and am going to be putting the other on ebay to try and Finance the second wave of H3's I was also thinking about putting one of the Desart storm Engines on there as well to do the same.
I made the SDP45 With an Atlas SD50 and a Kato SD45. I used the Chassis, Sill, Handrails, Short Hood, Cab and the last 3/8" off the long hood from the Atlas SD50 and The Long hood from the back of the cab to the rear of the flaired radiator from a Kato SD45.
Next is going to be some of my extra C30-7 shells in H1, Kodachrome and some more U36CG R&S War Bonnetts.
It looks like you've done a good job, my only suggestion is one that seems to be an all to common error made when painting GN BSB, the top color is not black on the prototype, it is dark gray.
Well that's an interesting fact that I did not know. Thanks! I'll have to try and find a good photo representing that color. In all of my BSB scheme books it looks black just dirty black. Thanks for the help.
I finally got the decals in. Here's one of the SD60M desert storm engines I started. I also finished the BNSF C44-9W but I forgot to take Pics of but I'll take some saturday and post them here. I still have about 40% of the decals to apply but I'm done for tonight
Here is some more progress photos. I found out I made a potental fetal error in the SD60M's with the decals I used, I'll find out tomorrow and I'll let you all know what the out come is.
Well it was fatal, I had to send them back to the stripping bin. The stripes where to wide so I'm starting from square 1. on the flip side I have an extra GE builder plate for my BNSF C44-9W out of the pack , Here's some of the others though,
