Has anyone tried putting a LL SW9/1200 shell on an SW8 chassis? Are the chassis the same? I have a really nice SW9 shell and the mech runs like crap. Any help would be appreciated.
How does it run like crap? Sometimes these frame halves need to be straightened out a bit, they are very small and pretty thin. There is not much to these switchers so it should be easy to fix.
You might want to check to see if they power pickup tabs between the chassis and trucks are right. Mine was running like crap until I noticed that two of the truck tabs were on top of the chassis tabs unstead of below them.
Exact same LL chassis. The only difference between the two is the shell itself. So, yes, as long they both are LL they are interchangeable.
Also, the power pickup tabs can get dirty - I had a brand new one that ran poorly until I cleaned them with a scotch-brite pad.
