    It was a semi-busy weekend. We had a great time at the Phillies – Red Sox game despite the Phillies losing. After the game the kids got to run the bases at Citizens Bank Park. The rest of the time we did small projects around the house. We also kept our fingers crossed that the computer would not die. It is on life support with a failing hard drive. New should arrive by week’s end.

    I had a good modeling weekend, however. I weathered three reefers, one express reefer, an old time tank car, a F7A, a F7B, an E8A, and a E8B. I still need to seal them. I had a good modeling weekend, however. I weathered three reefers, one express reefer, an old time tank car, a F7A, a F7B, an E8A, and a E8B. I still need to seal them. On the express reefer which is an MDC/Roundhouse kit I had to remove the coupler pockets and replace them with Kadee draft boxes. The old ones were set too far back and there was not enough clearance for the couplers.

    I jumped the gun on the "objectiveS" for the weekend thread, and posted before this one was started. Oh well.

    Here we go.

    I started on my Atlas GP38 in HO scale. I have a goal to paint it up in the TRRA #2204 scheme. here is a prototype photo:

    Here's my progress:

    In between drying periods, I worked on a Walthers depressed center flatcar, with a trasnformer load. I assembled both kits separately, then installed the transformer on the flat. I used sewing thread to represent cables. Looks good.

    Now, I need to work on the transformer flat some more. I don't like the walthers brake stands, so I need to find a suitable replacement.

    Regards,

    I worked on the addition to the JJJ&E. I installed two decoders in steam loco's and added the detail parts to five Kato Mikado's.

    Stay cool and run steam.....:cool::cool:

    Well I only had 1/2 a weekend since a Friday night storm knocked out power until Saturday evening. However, Sunday I was able to build 3 panels for the lighting valance that will be at the end of the Van Buren peninsula. I hope to hang them this evening so I can shed some light on the subject.

    I got the L bracket risers onto the helix and successfully ran a train up and down it a few times on Saturday. There's still some adjusting to do that I hope to get done sometime before this coming weekend. On Sunday at the SCWD meeting, we had our annual meeting where we elect the Board of Directors for the next season. I'm on the board again, and I expect to retain the Model Contest Chair position next year for the division too.
