Not since 1981 when the Government of Saskatchewan purchased a fleet of 1000 grain cars has a new Saskatchewan grain car paint scheme been developed. 100 cars will be repainted at GE Railcar near Regina, Saskatchewan. The decals will be produced by Arco Graphics in Saskatoon. Who will be the first to manufacture this striking new paint scheme for the N Scale market?
Canada has the doggondest best looking paint on grain hoppers ever!!!! This one is so good, I am going to give up my place in line at a restaurant to a Canadian tourist, just to be appreciative. It will freak them out.
MUST....RESIST.....TOO....MANY....HOPPERS....ALREADY......Aw Heck, gimme a dozen!!! Those are by far one of the sharpest looking hoppers ever done. BTW, do any of you guys have the phone number to cylindrical hoppers annonymous? I think I've got a problem.
Welcome, Rrrr! If my wife ever says that, I better find out who kidnapped her, and put a clone in her place; because that won't ever happen! :shade:
That thing is so cool looking. Its to bad though, I thought that the Saskatchewan ones look the best out of the grain cars. They should hurry up and start painting those ugly brown ones. And PWRS might not do them but hopefullly yes.
They look great so I think you all should email Intermountain because they will sell us out to PWRS for a buck I am thinking .
I'd bet if one of you guys here that are handy making decals could rustle some up (that's a good side photo at the top of this thread), you'd have a waiting list of us that would purchase some. Just a thought.
I'll put my money on Intermountain doing them. I will get a few but I don't think I will make a entire grain train out of them. That's why I have my BN and BNSF hoppers! Well on second thought those are very nice looking cars.....Hmmmmm Can't wait for the new KCS hopper scheme to come out either.
Great idea!! I just fired Intermountain an email about the cars. Hopefully you all will send them one as well!! For the decal makers out there the PDF on my initial post gives a perfect side shot for decals to be made from. In this case a decal would be prototypical as the logo's on the actual car are full size decals.
And don't forget to notify me by email or PM once you've made some of the decals so I may purchase some (please!)
They Like to Give PWRS first choice So he can hit us up for a great profit then in two or three or four years Intermoutain makes the car just like the Gov't Of canada Salmon colored car .
I received the following reply from Jerry Harkness at Intermountian: "Grant Our product development department has indicated that we plan to announce this car in the very near future. I forwarded your e-mail to them so they can check out the link to the pdf file. Thank you for your interest in InterMountain Railway Company." Perhaps we won't have to wait too long before the new Saskatchewan Grain Car paint scheme is offered?
Great... another Intermountain cylindrical hopper that I just have to have... I'm still waiting for my CN "Environment" and old school Saskatchewan car to show up at the LHS, and I have to paint my rainbow CN "circus" hopper too... Next time Emily (wife) sees the train bill, I'll tell her to blame Canada!
