Well I was getting ready to head home, but I am glad I didn't! I heard over the scanner a fast piggyback had just come off the bridge from Sacramento, so I waited. And boy was I glad I did! Not one, but two Bi-Centennial SP units! :)

With a couple quick blast on the horn and a friendly wave, the engineer on this train had it stretched out and humming! :) Maybe I'll stick around a little longer.;)

The round looking rocks on the first shoreline I did are Woodland scenic Talus. The second section of grey rock is real rock. I collected it from the bottom of a ballast car. :)
If you ever do get out this way, drop me an email and let me know. The garage is always open to visitors.:)

It's getting late, but I heard the Dispatcher talking to the work crew Foreman giving him permission to start work again after Amtrak went by him. A couple of minutes later, 3 F40PH's lead a Superliner Passenger train down the Main.

Jan 1st, 1982 I saved my Busboy money and bought a ticket on the San Francisco Zepher from Oakland to Martinez. F40PH's 321 and 319 pulled the train. I didn't have to be anywhere, I just bought the tickets to ride, and I am glad I did.

In 1982, this is what a passenger train looked like. To me as a boy, it was the best way to travel. It was beautiful, and I felt privilaged to be riding it. I felt that same way watching it tonight. :)

Amtrak F40PH's rolling through Pinole, 1982, through a young boys camera. Almost brings a tear to my eyes. :)

This is a part I am really not looking forward to! I have never done water before, so I am looking at alot of different ways to do it. I will let you know what I do, and the photos will show the results...hopefully good! :);)

I should say, I want it to look like a gentle tide is coming in, so there will have to be slight 'ripples' on the water. Also, I want a small stream of water coming out of the pipe, and the circle expanding outward from the stream of water. There is such a large area to do, this process will 'make or break' the whole scene. So, I want to do something that works good! LOL

It's a bay, not a beach..there are no waves. Small ripples, or model it with the tide out..just make sure you get all the old tires, wooden structures, old bicycles, and furniture in there also...might be easier...might be easier to model mud...

The grass in this area will continue along next to the tracks and the rocks and then feather off slightly. This area of Pinole is more on the Marshy side.

    Those test photos look great!

Man, Jerry, you've gone from empty garage bay to centerfold about as fast as anybody I've ever seen.

When you shoot low level, that water color looks really good. Looks like it is already there. When you do put a surface on it, I think it will be very, very good.
