Did the same when I had my pickups. Not the greatest weight load, but it did help.

Why are we talking about trucks, and mice? Modeling needs to be done! Don't make me come down there! :D

It seems that rodents have hi-jacked this thread a few pages back. I'm ready to see some more freight in Franklin Canyon.

Hey, Bob Knight just announced he's doing the Canyon Diablo bridge in N.

So I'm not only officially bankrupt as a railroad, I need more ROW aquisition to fit it in.

So after he gets that done this year, I think you should buttonhole him for the Muir Trestle. You didn't really need that other side of the garage anyway, did you?

I should add Bob gave me some great ideas and tips for the bridge and I am in the process of doing some mock bridge models based on our talk. :)

    I will try.....
My camera is still broken, and the wifes is just a 'point and shoot' one so I cant get close-ups or anything like that. (Hence my lack of photos lately.) :(

Well, I have to do 544' long by 250 feet deep. I need a full eight feet to pull it off including approach curves, and if I'm willing to tear out a non-load bearing wall and move it three feet I can do it. Maybe.

If you look at my track plan it would go all the way across the top, coming off the Winslow underpass, all the way behind Flagstaff, and coming back in on the existing junction to Williams. Right not that edge of the layout is against a wall. I need a foot for the table and two feet for an aisle.

Muir Trestle is 1680 x 75.... more or less...... Lets see, you need.... ten and a half feet?

    I feel much better!

Want to go into metals futures markets? We could be affecting it....

Years ago we put one of those in our garage. Well, one afternoon we were in the kitchen and could hear the sound of something in the garage - it would slide a little on the concrete, then silence, then slide, then silence. My mom and I just sort of looked at each other, imagining what it might be. But when I opened the door and threw on the light, it was our weiner dog! BOTH back feet were stuck in it, so she would take a step, then sllliiidddee the back legs, then step, then sllliiiidddeee the back.....what a sad dog that day. :)

I don't just do gardening shows, I also work in sports television. To set up, sometimes I find myself "duck walking" in a dark little passage under the seats of a stadium to plug in a cable or something. On one such occasion, I felt something sticking to my shoe. I thought "What is that? An old popcorn ball or something?"

I think you see where this is leading... I got into the light and... OMG it was a sticky trap... with a dead mouse stuck between my shoe and the trap. Those things are hard to get off, especially when you're freaking out. I'll never forget it. Like Seinfeld would have, I almost had to throw the shoes away because I was so grossed out.

Jerry, I just finished reading all 3433 posts for your fantastic layout. It took about 4 days off and on (more on then off). Anything been done since your last post of Jan 16th or can I (we) assume the weather down there has buried your garage. I'm just about ready to start my new layout in N and your work is remarkable and inspiring to make me want to do alot of similar details and scenery. Watching the progress in all those pages (344) along with the stories and 1:1 videos almost makes me feel like I've known you forever. Like someone said somewhere in here "Will you adopt me" .... That would make two of us old enough to be your father, but hey, Great layout and a real engineer to boot. I come with pension and SS, so I won't cost much. LOL
    Looking forward to more !

Hello Chuck and Thanks! You are correct, no work due to weather. :( I had heaters down there, but with 20ft ceilings it was a losing battle. (Someday....drop ceilings!)
I have worked on some inside modeling, (My American Freedom Train, and some building for the layout), so when it does get nicer out there, and that will hopefully be soon, I can get started again. I'm looking forward to it like everyone else! :)

Good to hear from ya. We got some warmer weather coming next week (40's)( not typical for Mid-MI, so maybe it's coming from the south and that might be good for AL as well. Just hope no flooding, since I live on a parcel of land with a creek on one side.
