No modeling today...Caleb and I went steam chasing as SOU 630 kicked off the 2013 21 Century Steam program with a trip from Chattanooga to Attalla AL.
Jerry -- Thanks for the photo - not bad for an engine built in 1903. Are you going to Atlanta next weekend? Al
I wont be making it to Atlanta next weekend. We are moving the steel mill moduals to another location next weekend that hopefully will be better for members to get to so we can finish them in this century......lol
No doubt, there are some interesting older diseasels. But I'd probably have my railfanning license confiscated if I voted wrong on this one.
OK, with that photo as a prototype I want to see how Jerry models steam plumes from his engines as they run through his videos. No, wait a minute, his scenery is all summer, and it takes the cold temps of winter to have steam plumes like 630 is showing off....Oh Well.
I have spent the last 2 weeks reading this entire thread. Amazing the start to current state and the obstacles you have overcame to get here. Now that I'm caught up, I'll be following!
Wow... nice pic. Even though I model the present day, every time I see a photo like that I am grateful to the committed individuals who are dedicated to preserving steam for all of us to enjoy today.
Ops, that shows my lack of knowledge about Eastern railroads. However, this is my image of what the Reading looked like.
The unit is a buddy of mine from the Coosa Valley Model RR club. He won it on EBay and wanted me to detail it, so I added wipers, plow, MU hoses, class lights, and waiting on numberboard decals to get them done.
Its welcome to roam here too Mike! LOL (But, as many of your units that have gotten out this way, Im afraid Im going to have to start charging by the miles...LOL)
