    Hello folks,
I'm a lone-wolf armchair modeler at this point........For the last few years I've been mostly researching, track planning and getting together my locomotive roster. Happy to say I'm pretty much done with the loco's and the research never ends............

BTW I'm modeling the Boston & Albany....New England scenery, grades and curves + NYC roster, interchange with NYNH&H, CV, B&M...mostly 2 track main, Worcester Union Station, etc......Very model-railroad-genic. I'm not going for full prototypical accuracy, I'm not that sadistic, but I most definitely wish to capture the flavor (operationally & scenically) of the B&A from Worcester West to State Line Tunnel............

Early fall..........Post war......I've got about 60Sq Squares to work with in HO, If I double deck that will hit 100 give or take.....

I'm now in the "Rolling Stock Hoarding" phase............

Needless to say I'm quite pleased with what's available it seems the passenger market has blossomed, I've accumulated and built quite a few of the "branchline" kits. excellent models.

My problem (until recently) is that the "Centerpiece" of my passenger roster is going to be "The New England States" circa 1949..............Happily now........It seems that Walthers has in RTR form most of the cars I would require with which to fairly accurately represent the consist of #'s 27 & 28.

My question for you folks is what is the general opinion regarding the Walther's RTR BUDD cars?

I prefer kits but beggars can't be choosers........

    Thanks!

They are very good cars, have decals for numbers, names, decent details, smooth rolling trucks, sprung diaphrams, the interiors are a bit plain and scream to be detailed, especially if adding light kits.
24" min radius, need to change to KD's from the plastic couplers, several grabs to add, average 40 #80 holes to drill.
bonus, most of them at reduced price from walthers.

    Thanks Eagle!

The drill tip size is good to know.
