I have been itching for some photos of other modern era layouts out there for inspiration, how about posting some photos of any modern era layouts or trains you are running, say 1990 +? thanks for the inspiration! Jan
My layout isn't exactly the 'modern' era but I run diesels. I like the new big SD70's, SD80's,90's and also the new GE diesels. Cheers,
I'm somewhat mentally constipated when it comes to up-loading images. There are a few pictures on my web site if you're interested.
Grant-sar, You aren't alone. I have a brain fart everytime I try to upload a image. It should be simple...click here...browse...and click on picture to download. I can't seem to make that work here. I did visit your website and your engines and layout are fascinating. I like the private label SAR. Nice job. Keep bringing back news of your layout. JSO-Flo, a interesting handle. I do have some modern locomotives and train consists. However, my emphasis is with regard to the early years of diesel and the memories I have of the Santa Fe. Feel free to visit railimages to check it out. Click on FYI - highligted portion below to see my presswood central. ATSFCliff, Looks to me like your detail work made a Bachmann loco look even better. I have a number of these and am surprised as to how well they run. If it isn't Bachmann...well...I missed it. The one pictured appears to be a GE 40CW, right?.
ATSF Cliff, very nice shot, that backdrop is outstanding as well. Grant, I have been a regular visitor to your site since I really got into N scale rail, fantastic work as always and hope you can get that camera going for some additional photos of the SAR--I'm sure its developed even further, and would love to see some SAR pulling intermodal shots! Barstow Rick, Jsoflo was just a quick and easy to remember tag I pulled years ago when my e-mail service couldn't give me just my name without a pile of numbers behind it! As I am one of 3 Jan's in the family, I was the one "of South Florida" at the time! Very nice layout. I'll try to get some photos this weekend, but like others, its such an impossible task to get good, no-fuzzy, cropped shots! Keep the photos coming, the inspiration is flowing! Jan
try this site i hope it will help jeff http://www.joe-daddy.com/1-mrr/images/Layouts/Jeff-2/Jeff%20Morrison's%20Railroad%20Empire.html
I can help.... (sorry about the size!) Grant's layout is great, and I can testify to his paint and detail skills displayed by his fantastic motive power. A favorite shot below: (doesn't hurt that it has a tunnel!)
With the high-adhesion "rollerblade" trucks, it's not a Dash 8. It's a C44-9W or AC4400CW - unfortunately, I can't tell the difference from the right side.
Check out a previous post on my layout, a 1995-era Santa Fe layout. Sorry, but I haven't added any new pics lately. Maybe something to do soon. http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?t=82394&highlight=Corwith
I have a modern era layout, but it's nowhere near presentable...yet Check out my blog to see pictures, but nothing much there at the moment.
Well, as most know I don't follow eras but and my layout like Metro's is not presentable - yet. When it is I'll post appropriately.
I have such an eclectic collection of locos and rolling stock that I’m not sure what year/s I’m trying to model. This doesn’t even take into account the variety of automobiles and trucks that populate my roads and parking lots.
I model Tehachapi & environs in 1995. Here's a couple pics, there are more on Railimages (a link to my Railimages album is below...)
Sorry guys, that's a GE AC4400CW by Kato. I also like their C44-9W's and ordered a couple more! Cheers,
GE Kato not Bachmann My error: Thanks to Jim 157, I was advised the picture you posted of the GE's are Kato. I best be careful...just might insult a prestigious model rail provider. Good looking unit. Hummm seems to be detailed better, as well. >
Ft. Lauderdale yard one trak modules Here are some shots from present day Ft. Lauderdale, FL intermodal yard one trak modules that I've been working on for the FEC N scale group, modern freight! Still have some work to do!
