    Because the Kato PAs have a long wheel base truck with no lateral play due to the needle point bearings in the side frames, they make excellent track work inspectors. The Life Like PAs have trucks where the axles slide side to side a bit more so they are more likely to slide right on through any bad spots on a track. If a Kato Pa can make it through, just about anything can. :teeth:

    My Kato SD90s were my most picky ones until I received a Bachmann "J" , this one is really something ! My hat's off to all of you who operate a lot of steamer !

    AHH. EL Alcos in freight service!

    EL took their Es and PAs and gegeared them for freight. Because of all the types and brands of locomotives EL had you can really have some interesting consists.

    When the PAs were in passenger service, if used with Es in consist, the PAs were supposed to be on the head end account loading quicker than the Es and jerking.

    --As you know the EL & AT&SF had a quick runthough connection at Chicago. Better get some for good.
