    Hey everyone,

Just got these off the press, first pass and there needs to be some color adjustment of the NP Name Print on the side, but other than that they are finished and assembly starting up. Look great on the layout, run straight and true, and even make it through the switches just fine!)

    Cheers

Ooh, I'm drooling already! Will the SP one be Black Widow? That HAS to be the one after the NP and CN sergeant stripe versions!

Oh, and these don't have lit numberboards do they?

    Question for Joe D'

    Joe,

    One question!!!

This has plagued me since the Gunderson Husky was released.

Why does MTL sometimes release "Consecutive" Roadnumbers instead of numbers with some distance between them?

    NP GP9 #373 & #374
    TTX #DTTX 56811 & #DTTX 56812

    Just curious!!!

Actually, I prefer unlit numberboards. The problem with the GP35 was the headlights were much fainter than the number boards. This will not be the case with the GP9s- Yippee!

Oh! Oh! I gotta have some now! Oh! Look at the reflective stripes! [IMG] I was so worried those would be skipped, but no, they are present in all their glory! ;)

That has to be one of the most difficult paint schemes ever to do right, and it looks like you guys aced it! I can't wait! Boy oh boy! That's my babies there! :D

The first NP Diesels in Z Scale ever! [IMG]

I am glad they are sequential numbers, as NP assigned them to regions based off sequential numbers, so they would look right paired up like that.

Wow, I don't recall seeing the reflective stripes on the Atlas N scale version. This is way cool!

    Yes )

Sure, most of our cars are out of order, but with the NP we wanted them to be consecutive because that's the way they were deployed I believe. In the past some of the other unit types may have been consecutive, but that was before I got involved with helping with the numbers and research on the releases. Some folks really like that, some don't, but in the future we will make sure the Well Cars are far enough apart that it looks more realistic. Good point.

This is the Pits. All you guys on the West Coast get to 'play' first. Joe is going to have to make House Calls with his vest loaded with "Stuff Coming from MTL"

I know how you feel Don, but there is a simple explaination. Just look at the math below, and it will all be clear:

I'm writing my Congressman right NOW. 'Course he's probably doing something devious and won't get my letter anyway.

Joe-I hope you and Loren are coming early on Saturday. It looks like I can make it to the meet on Saturday (A New Yorker Z Scaler in the Bay Area-what a hoot!) I have to teach at Keeble & Schuchat Camera Store on Saturday late afternoon. I wish I could be there Sunday-have to fly back to NY for a wedding!

    Thanks!

    Michael

    I'm getting envious.

I'm looking at my house for layout space.

Of course, if I'd started in Z back in 1972, I probably would have had one engine until the past few years.

That makes now a perfect time to start dabbling with Z Pete! Anyone can find a 2' x 4' space, and pick up a precut board at the hardware store.

My grandfather has a huge HO layout in the garage, but his 2' x 4' Z layout gets all the attention, because he can bring it out, lay a bath towel on the kitchen table, then set the layout there and mess with it for hours. When he is tired of it, off to the back bedroom with it.

Grandpa is not really in to collecting locos and rolling stock, but rather in detailing little scenes.

You can start with the same thing, and not have to drop your main scale. Use your practice with Z to sharpen your N Scale skills!

And just thing Pete... a tiny GP9, a jewel to start you off in Z Scale.:shade:
