Well
I saw on the another board MQT was going to have a daytime run, so I went out.
Rans to Fuller JCT, due to the chatter on the scanner, and CSX was switching Padnos around 630pm.

Went to Judd st in Grand Rapids, were CSX Wyoming Yard is, and Marquette Rail interchanges, dident see much moving, and I was in a pinch, so I had to go. Went back to Fuller JCT to find nothing, went to Store and back to Marquette tracks starte (Turner Ave), were I saw the MQT headlamp North. Pulled over and caught them at Turner. http://railroadfan.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=507&pos=0

This is what Fuller JCT looking like today, this at on time was a very busy railroad interchange. It was the crossing of the Michigan Northern( a shortline that took over Penn Central), and the C&O running Both North/South, and they both crossed the GTW (now Mid-Michigan Railroad owned by Rail-America) GTW/MMRR track ran East/West. Michigan Northern went rail-banked in 1984 and the tracks were removed there after, so in the photo you see the CSX tracks (North/South) that Marquette Rail had Track right on, and the MMRR (East /West) tracks

The Photo I took is loooking South with the CSX tracks crossing the road, and MMRR tracks are the other running East West. In the foreground along the CSX track you can see a pile of ties, this is right were the Michigan Northern Tracks were, running right along the CSX tracks.http://railroadfan.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=534&pos=2 this is another pic looking West on the MMRR full of cars on the NS track.

So Today it is still busy with CSX, NS, MQT Rail, and MMRR but not as busy as it once was.

I was on the East side of the train, decided to race down to Ann ST (Fuller JCT) for some last pics, well, I got there before MQT, but they has a stop signal at 723pm,
with no chatter on the CSX or MQT channels , I bailed for my father's day plans.

    Enjoy

Here's one you need to looks closely to be correct. It's a Penn Central form. But copied after the merger. So is CONRAIL=

THats awsome! Yea it must have been great place to sit and train spot. It's not too bad now, but not like it was. In the one you said it was Conrail merge, with the Penn Central heading, C&E Engine 7105? I cant put my finger on the C&E, whats that

C&E is a common abbreviation used by most railroads in train order days. It means Conductor & Engineer. Those people to whom the order is addressed.

Another was C&M. Conductor & Motorman. Used not just by some interurbans, but also at least briefly on mainline electrifications. Some railroads when they dieselized, also called the new units "motors." And (correctly), used that nomenclature.

Well they now have a company store with a bunch of cool stuff, and from what I hear from my buddy that works there is they will have HO scale good for sale in the future. I dunno if this intrested you or not, but I though I would bring it up.

Thanks. I model in N scale, 1960's. And dabble in On30.

I'm always interested in seeing rail routes preserved. Lines with historic names we all know, kept alive. For the spinoffs to succeed. Thrive. Fascinated by the way their management goes about trying to make it a going concern.

IMNSHO, the Class One companies are casting off today, what they may regret tomorrow. We've already seen some expensive buy-backs. It's like taking a human body, removing all the veins, and keeping only arteries. Eventually, economic patterns will change. And the railroads of today, will not be able to follow into tomorrow. Those pesky branches of today, which they'd no longer have, are the flexibility they'll lack to survive. :eek:mg: So, if this short line is healthy, they'll be sitting pretty, when the purchase offer comes in!
