Hi! Finally found a source for my LED tweezers! Self closing angle tweezers 4.5" long http://www.scissorsales.com/moretweezers.html These tweezers are absolutely fantastic for soldering magnet wires to tiny LEDs. Here's the clinic I gave at the NMRA showing how to use the tweezers: http://www.burnhamshops.com/lightingclinic/lightingclinic.pdf
LOL. When I saw LED tweezers I was expecting tweezers with an LED to facilitate close work. Maybe that's next. Ben
I get my LEDs from ngineering.com along with all the accessories like magnet wire. The LED shown is their Micro Super Yellow-White, and it's pretty slam dunk to hook up (0 failures in over two dozen attempts with the tweezers!). You still need a Mascot Base, which I got at a now-closed LHS. For flux I use TIX, excellent stuff (except the bottle tips over easy mg http://www.ares-server.com/Ares/Ares.asp?MerchantID=RET01229&Action=Catalog&Type=Product&ID=17111
Check the link above. Tony gives some sources there. It's an excellent clinic on small LEDs. Thanks for that link, Tony!
Great Info!!! How about this set of tweezers? http://www.widgetsupply.com/page/WS/PROD/tweezer-clamp/BCT33 Hobo Tim
The tip is different, and will let the LED fly into oblivion... :teeth: Doesn't look like much of a difference, but the tweezer head I found is actually specially designed for printed circuit board work. The only other pair I found was from Taiwan, and they wanted an obscene amount for the device!
