Well, C&M is a railroad that I help out at in Michigan. They are just a small Tourist railroad that runs from Coopersville and Marne. This is there website http://www.coopersvilleandmarne.org/ C&M is really neat running a ex-GTW sw-9 (7014) for the motive power, and when that's down we use 3049 at GE 44-ton switcher. We run between the name sake towns Coopersville and Marne, and they do a 1950 them, when we work the train, we look like we are from the 50's, using hand signals and all. We interchange at Marne with the Mid-Michigan Railroad (on the RARE event we see freight), and MMRR has track right over our tracks back into Grand Rapids. I mostly do MOW and wanted just to get the railroad out there. This is my myspace group of C&M with some pics I took. I plan this weekend when we run to get some nicer pictures. We also let the speeder-cars get on the track and tear it up from time-to time. Infact on June 9th we had a motor car meeting. http://groups.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=groups.groupProfile&groupID=106216435&Mytoken=CC9CE927-24F9-4129-B4A9CBB51923226516511734 If you have any pics of the Equipment please post, or join my group Thanks -Chris Kowalewski
What a neat operation!! A very nice collection of equipment there. Never been to Michigan but if I do... Thanks for sharing!!
Yeah its really cool, there are talks of a dinner train and to restore 1395 , so my fingers are crossed! Another neat kind this we just got in that is being restored is a grade-crossing shanty for a watchman.
MOW? Cool. When I've volunteered time for museum work, I always preferred track gang. I'd rather cut brush, or clean a ditch, than be on train. Dunno why. There's sure satisfaction in it. Best of luck to your group's efforts! Boxcab E50
