Other than the bi-weekly grocery shopping drudgery we have nothing really planned for this weekend. Softball and baseball are done for the year. No sports until football practice begins in August.

I would like to finish weathering the 10 cars I have been working on recently. Then I will need to clean up the workbench some and decide on the next round of projects. I should also work on getting the garden railroad back up and running.

Although this will be a very busy weekend I hope to start detailing the cab of an 0-4-0 Porter with the very cool Grandt Line kit.

Trying to solve my gluing problem, maybe start on the Red Wing Milling and maybe some wiring. The weather is definitely going to keep me inside.

Mostly tidying up the layout. I haven't been out there too much the last four months, so it's got to be dirty and messy.

The ever present "tidying up" project and I might do some decaling, try the sugested method of salvaging old decals as well as apply the ones that just arrived. If time permits I will weather the two locomotives I plan to decal.
I may dabble with some wiring as well.

Might get something done this weekend.
Might get all track that needs to be elevated up and gluded in place. Then again wild monkeys might fly outta my um, ears.

Gonna put some cork sheet in place and add the basic track work for a small yard and engine service track. I decided to use Atlas Custom Line #6 code 80 turnouts with Micro Engineering code 70 pre-weathered flex.

Pulling up all the old track and road bed from one of my layouts in preparation for laying all new Unitrack. (Not changing track plan, just the track itself.) The goal is to save as much of the scenery as possible. I know I will have to move two buildings and of course re-scenick the track area.

I know Unitrack is anathema to many, but I have done three layouts in the last six years, two with flex track and one with Unitrack. The Unitrack layout has had zero electrical or turnout problems, something I cannot say for the other two.

When finished, I will have two reliable layouts I can rotate between storage and display.

Bookbear - wish I could help. Have you purchased your track yet? I have quite a bit of fairly sharp curves new in box if you are interested I couold let them go at lesss than I paid for them. It's going to be a long time before I get to expanding the GandG.

Funny thing, I am going to try a code 55 switching module when I get a chance.

Fifteen years ago, give or take one or two, I purchased a Berghoff Brewery Period Miniatures building kit. I now have the perfect place for it, so I am going to build it Sunday-Monday. Well at least start painting, cleaning up, bracing....
If successful I may tackle N 2006 Garage craftman kit I have had on the shelf even longer. Is Mainline Siding even in business any longer?

    Grey:

Yep, track is here (been sitting on shelf for a while). Thanks for the offer, though... I appreciate it. I finally have a block of time to do this. The problem is that the layout has to be able to go back into storage after a chunk of work is done, so the stages of work have to be planned carefully. Everything has to be able to tip up (dry, set, etc.) so it can be put back in storage. But, for the next few days it can stay out on the second bed in the guest room, and that means I can work for maybe three days in a row on it w/o having to put it away. I think I can get the track all laid by this evening. I did get all the AC wiring done yesterday and this morning (I took the opportunity to add some more building lights). The repair on scenery can be done in short sessions over the next month or so. Three pics below:

This area was widened and straightened somewhat:

The new AC wiring for the buildings I installed last month. there will be more wiring done for the turnouts later.
