A posting over at the Atlas forum made me realize how many people are doing cement or concrete industries, lets see your hoppers!

I need to update my weathering techniques for cement cars, but here a few I did years ago.

Looks like Joe Gartman has the hang of this. That's the way I want my cement hoppers to look! I'll keep practicing. You can see, in the background below, that I have some more material.

    NKP 91163, Atlas shell.

wcfn100. That M&st.L looks just like the ones that the C&NW interchanged at Crawford, NE. from the cement plant in Rapid City.

For the Q there are 4 that were made and a fifth coming from Atlas.
I don't remember any of them painted in white as the MT & IM are.

Now you all have convinced me that I need a cement vendor. I think I'll get the HO one and modify it as has been stated in another thread.

I tried to post pictures but can't figure it out.

A lot of sweet looking cement hoppers, Joe's weathering is inspiring, and loved the BNSF wedge custom jobs? Keep them coming everyone.

We have a cement transfer facility (I think thats what it is) here in Ft. Lauderdale that CSX changes, can't believe the heavy weathering and sludge all over those hoppers!

Links to the pics aren't working. Check my photo page under N scale specific.

Very, very nice! At first, I thought it was a stock Kato hopper. It looks like you approximately just removed the two center panel sections. The lettering and everything else is identical. Did you strip and repaint completely? Thanks.

    New hatches, too, of course.

Here is a very poor photo from when I built it:
    http://rides.webshots.com/photo/1099513645044296030cAJNcy
Most of the lettering is the same, I changed the "00" in the number. And since the diamond was cut, I removed it and added one from CDS lettering.

There are some small styrene bits to reshape the end slopes, hatches are new and roof walk is wooden now.

    Titan cement

Bob Knight of Traincat posted some fantastic photos of the Titan cement plant in Miami on the Atlas forum (especially great because I live near it and its a massive operation) but it reminded me that Titan America has a fleet of 2 bay covered hoppers, great looking units, anyone have photos of them? I'd love to get some custom decals done up, they are great looking hoppers and would go great on the FEC One-trak group layout,
    all help appreciated,
    my best, Jan

Can I get the link for the HO to N scale cement factory conversion? I did a search but didnt turn up anything useful.

"" signalz"" talked about it in his post "Now you all have convinced me that I need a cement vendor. I think I'll get the HO one and modify it as has been stated in another thread."
