There is some DRGW content honest! After going here Saturday....The Needles Isle of Wight From my house in Brighton this was bus/train/ferry/bus/bus/bus...just to get there, about 3hrs 30 mins total. Sunday morning was this....more info on the link below http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?p=426615#post426615 Before finishing up this......... DRGW Diner 1116, Stock undecorated Kato smoothsided diner, roof vents alterted, under frame equipment altered, BLMA grab rails on the roof, painted and awaiting lettering and some weathering.
Thanks................The Kato car only has two chimnies 1116 has 3, I used one from the American Ltd models detail set. Difficult to position the 3rd one as all the photos I have are 3/4 view. All bar one of the roof vents on 1116 have a cowl over them whereas the model has grills throughout.
I assume that's the different-looking chimmey. I suppose it's too much to hope for that the real thing had mismatched chimneys?
Very difficult to tell as its not in line with the other two. The Kato ones have the base moulded into the roof so a 100 percent match is unlikely on the model.
Oh $%#!! I wish I'd had the last photo earlier. I thought the end chimney might be on the centre line, I've set it just off centre and certainly to near the other ones......now then do Kato do spare roofs.
Note that the lower car sides are a deeper silver that better matched the stainless steel on the combine.
