Well, I'll start it this week. Here's a sneak preview of my latest N-scale ship, almost two years in the making: It's just a snapshot taken in my kitchen. Here's a non-depth-of-field shot of the hatches coming off, in preparation for unloading:
Thanks. I dun totally forgot.:tb-embarrassed: Here is an old Arnold Rapido N scale steamer from almost 40 years ago, given new life with a heavy rebuild.
Pete: I thought you were rebuilding a freighter that was an early model but with little detail. Is this that ship or is this a ground-up-new model? Sure look great.
SNFF 2007 09 15 GP7B project - build a Des Plaines Kit Started the rudimentary steps. Disassembled shell: Removed cab. Two tabs, need to gently squeeze them out (as you can tell, I sheared one of the tabs off! Of course, will not need cab so it's OK): Overhead view of shell with cab removed: Kit instructions say assemble the side / top pieces first... I am thinking about how I want to cut away or file down the existing plastic shell to allow the pieces to fit. I am thinking maybe grind down instead of completely cut out.... Cannot just place the side pieces on the existing shell (too thick), so will need to cut out or grind. I want to make sure everything is perfectly straight and also well supported... hmmm... thinking. Test fit of replacement cab side: Slowly working on it.....
Flash, This is a new one. I refurbished the "Naomi Beth", which was the first freighter I ever built, a while back. This new one is loosely based on the Canadian Pacific freighter Beavercove, built in 1947.
Here is an Intermountain covered hopper with homemade decals. I will try to post a thread on the decals later. Here is a view of the prototype from George Elwood's Fallen Flags website.
Hello, everyone. I really enjoy coming to this thread every week. You have such fine skills, and the imagery ain't half shabby, neither. Well..I took two images last evening and will submit them. I hope you like NYC fast steam. Niagara 6001 leads the noon special out of Seneca Falls.
Still nothing new for me in the project department. I guess I'm in a bit of a rut. I did play a little bit on the layout thismorning. I was doing a little switching, so I thought I'd also snap a couple of pics.
I've made two videos, [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UhY09lvRZk]Alco[/ame] and these [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmbFY6pTlCA]GP 35s[/ame] at the train. Wolfgang
Wolfgang, that is one fine urban setting you have modeled there! Very nice videos. You must be a happy camper...er, I mean railroader. :tb-cute: -Crandell
Just a little track work today and testing. Trying to get a loop going to actually run a train but slowly and surely I'm getting there.
Here is my first airbrushed kit. It is a bachman carshed with the service walkways from thier engine shop added. I like the results, hope you do also.
