Lot of great stuff tonight. Been working on the layout the last couple of weeks. Added a second track to the helix and put the backdrop around it and painted backdrop.
Built the foam inclines coming out of the helix
and molded in the base scenery (right side of photo) and installed fascia.

Built backdrop on peninsula and painted it. Brought the roadbead across the backdrop and around the end of the peninsula and molded in one side of the rock cut. Also got the fascia on.

Papermill goes on other side on peninsula.

This started out as a Con Cor/Kato S-2 and was converted to a GS-1.
In 1930, Baldwin delivered the 4404 to the Southern Pacific "Pacific Lines" for dual service on either freight or passenger trains. In 1943 it was sent east to the T&NO and given the new number of 710. A dog house was added to the tender a few years later because of a Texas law requiring a seat for the brakeman on freight trains. For locomotives used only in passenger service they were not required.

    Okay. I had "weekend fun"

The "red blob" on the left is a Vollmer kit. I airbrushed the parts on Saturday and let dry to Sunday PM.

THEN, I assembled the puppy to about 90%. I have some "kitbashing" to do, finishing, touch-up, etc.

THEN, just for yucks, I "spotted" this guy on my layout where it probably will wind up.

Spent several hours following and photographing a visiting Ohio Central steam engine. Was pleasantly surprised that the train ran 2 days in a row (notices not published) on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic RR from Independence to Akron Ohio.

    Very nice.
I remember watching these go by in Lancaster Ca. as I was growing up. This model is the big blank spot on my list. Where did you get them or how did you build them? Sure would be nice to replace the concor units I have that are very old.
