...not yet, this is BNSF SD60M #9206 right before the new paint job came on. prototype: BNSF SD60M #9206 I did start with an unnumbered Atlas BN SD60M, painted with POLLY Scale and Badger model flex colors, masked with Tamyia masking tape, detailparts from JnJ, GMM, Sunrise and BLMA and some self made decals (the yellow stripes are from MS 60-1263)... (klick for a bigger picture) (klick for a bigger picture) (klick for a bigger picture) (klick for a bigger picture) this is my first paintjob I did solely for the purpose of sell it on eBay... ;-)
Steve, What the heck happened to the prototype to get this patch-job!:we-eek::we-biggrin: Must have been a wreck repair?
Very nice job, Steve! Looks as if the engine was either recked, or corroded,a nd then primed for new paint. Conrail fans? I doubt it--But I have seen plenty of SD60M's with Oakway SD60 fans... The SD60's and 60M's traveled together a lot on the Denver-Laurel line, and are serviced in the same facility. (Glendive, MT?).
What time should I pop round and pick it up? I can be in RotoVega$ in 3 hours with a full police escort:tb-biggrin::tb-biggrin::tb-biggrin::tb-biggrin:
Well, it's way North of that now. I tried and, well, my threshold didn't get me there, but you should have a nice return on investment by now. You've inspired me to pick up another SD60M undec and give it a shot (I just finished a NS version last night). That's an awesome looking piece of work. Brian
Steve, Are you selling stock to the public yet? I buy in at .99$ and where I sell no one knows 190167662050
Great idea, Steve. Excellent work on your model. I see it is doing well on ebay now. Is the prototype engine just in the paint line or did it operate on BNSF this way? I see the KCS paint to the left of the engine in the prototype picture. Thanks.
Steve, That is really some impressive work. No matter how hard it was, it looks like it is going to pay off quite well. Good luck with that. Can't wait to see what's next.
