Here is what I was finally able to do (railroad related) today. The Glacier Gravel Building is built stock , I am just bashing the conveyors. Got to move to the other side now. You will not see the backside from the layout front , just the rear conveyor. Mike
Yea , I built the structure some time ago and I guess it HAS been sitting around on the layout awhile LOL . Mike
COOL ! That's cool stuff, Mike. I've always liked overhead conveyors, as they provide much visual interest with the lattice work and bracing, as you've included. I hope to incorporate some in a Freelanced batch plant one day.
Some new work this AM This morning I finally sat down and decaled some ACTRR Micro-Trains Data Boxcars. They depict three stages of development of the railroad. Note that the third picture is a MT shell on a modified Model Power track cleaner. These three cars will most likely all become cleaners. I am also headed to th train room as I got the unobtainium plant mounted yesterday and plastered in place. I will be ballasting track and coloring earth and rock piles. Mike
Ha ha, okay, that's the first time I've heard that. It was worth a good belly laugh. :tb-biggrin: Nice job on the gravel plant.
As everyone has said already. Beautiful structure. Interesting railroad theme. Is it freelanced? Steam era or transition? I'm seeing lots of 40 footers.
Mounted Here are some updated pictures of my Glacier Gravel ( now Tijeras Unobtainium )mounted in place. Tomorrow I hope to do ballast and ground cover as well as stone on piles. Mike
Nice Mike. Still need to get to Las Cruces the next time I'm out that way. What would an unobtanium facility need boxcars for? I'm guessing the hopper cars are for the "ore"?
Unobtanium? Isn't that what they made 1971 Hemicuda ragtops from? Cuz you sure can't find them, or when you do, they cost 7 figures! Very nice work!
No , that was the Dodge Daytona the Cuda was unfathomite. The boxcars are actually going to be nother industry. Rix Grain silos. Thanks Guys , Mike
I’ve got the same Glacier Gravel Co model as you (not as nicely weathered though) and am having a dickens of a time trying to decide where the conveyers should go. Your idea of a swiveling conveyer is excellent. Beautiful job of topography painting also. Brian
Thanks Brian , I try to modifiy every structure some how so they , number one , fit the space , and , number two, don't look like all the others. Mike
Here is what happened today on the ACTRR. I moved the caboose track from the yard side of the layout to the yard throat side to free up space in the yard area. I need to cut in the two turnouts in the yard picture maybe tomorrow. New location at yard throat. Old location in yard area where GP30 is sitting. The best I could do holding the camera way over my head of the whole scope of the area. Mike
