Very cool P42 Mitch. Sheesh, I need to find more time for my two latest projects. They're only a couple of Mopac rostered non-DB SD40-2s, but I do have several SD90MACs dying to be converted from UP into Jenks Blue. ~Tim
jeesh don't I look like the village idiot!!! sorry mitch, i thought you had just finished the unit.... my bad
Today more MOPAC rollingstock arrived care of Flash Blackman air services 3 MOPAC hoppers which I bought through Texas Ron and a MOPAC caboose I bought on ebay thanks to Bob (Longtrain) who alerted me to the auction.
Paul, your layout looks so much more interesting with the variety of roads, instead of all that yellow
Yes definately by backdating and modelling fallen flags of UP has enabled a more diverse roster and going back to caboose operations has also made switch more realistic.
Thanks Flash I also received some more mopac cars in the post today from an Ebay win. I have two gondolas but not sure what loads they carried, can anybody post some pics or at least give me an idea????
Thanks for the ideas Eagle, this morning I dropped by my LHS and bought some styrene piping to make a few loads, will post pics on completion.
Paul Your photos bring tears to my eyes. Wish they were real and wish the photos were taken today. Nice paint job. MOPHEAD
Well MOPAC lovers today I ordered 2 MOPAC B23-7 locomotives. Most of you know I'm an EMD man but today while reading March Model Railroader I saw the photo competition and loved the pic of the HO MOPAC B23-7's although that are incorrect as they have the large buzzsaw on the side which the actual prototype didnt. So I thought how can I be a MOPAC modeller without a couple of these units. Keep a watch for new pics although they wont be here for a couple of weeks yet
MP's philosophy was to keep the pressure on EMD with small orders from GE, as for B23's or U30C's. However, GM definately ruled the rails. Author's note - 1,000! Yippee! Only 7,000 to go to catch Alan!
Eagle2 congrats on your 1000 posts. Here is a shot of the SD40-2 that were my first custom paint MOPACS. On the weekend Jason mounted the beacons which mysteriously went missing at time of painting The B23-7's are on their way so should have pics next week.
