I'm rather new to this forum, but I would like to ask a few questions... For starters, I have/had a 4x8 layout...however it was destroyed for the most part when I moved. Recently I have been trying to collect new locos and freight cars for my second upcoming layout (a switching layout, but with the possibility of continuous run.). I was wondering where everyone gets their custom cars from. I am no artist and can't really make anything myself (I have tried, and I wasted a lot of money in the process). I did have a few things in mind, mostly private owner hopper cars, and locos specific to G&O Railways (G&O is a shortline collective). However, eBay as well as internet searches have helped me none. Custom modelers/artists are difficult to find. Any ideas?

I'm sure you can find someone on this site that could do them for you. There are many talented painters here! :)

Well, I guess I'll just keep watching this thread for responses then ;)

On the bright side, I can get more than enough reference photos from two railroad picture databases.

I don't do much custom stuff for hire anymore but I will post some samples below. I have come to regret selling off all the custom engines i have built over the years. I have a stack of undecorated engines just itching to be made into something. Plus I have my Frankenstien fleet well underway.

Did you also do an A-unit to go with it? Cause Santa Fe had no AC power in real life.

The only AC I had done other than the B unit was a GM SD90AC. However I have some undec GE AC units in the stack now that will probably become some SF stuff.

    Here is the 90MAC:

By the way, the trailing unit is an SD90MAC B unit. I don't have any other shots of it though and I sold that set long ago.
