This is a shot of an HO layout in the old ATSF depot in Gutherie, Oklahoma. There were also layouts in other scales.
3 fresh SD50s lead Nixon-Axial train 709 out of Tunnel 17 back to Craig, CO, where it'll load back up with Moffat County's finest, and return to Colorado Springs:
Amtrak in Selma, NC. Amtrack Carolinian entering from the west down Railroad Street. Palmetto heading south at the old ACL station passes under the signal lights. The NS diamonds are just to the right, out of the picture.
I just brushed more of the base paint color over it with a Q-tip. Then I faded the whole car with an even lighter shade of blue. It was my original intent to start with a really faded RI blue, but the paint darkened a bit when it dried
SNFF 2007 12 15 Still working on the GP7B project slowly (started it back in Sept and still working on it). I'm doing the handrails next. While there are many good ways to do it, including doing complete wire stanchions... I'm taking the following less time-intensive (hopefully!) approach. Will post next week how they turn out. Will update the overall thread on this project later when I have time, including the actual installation of the handrails. That thread is over at: Des Plaines GP7B kit - any experiences to share? Damn. That is one of the best layouts I've ever seen. It's really refreshing seeing a modern day layout. The Starbucks is cool. Very inspiring. I may steel some of your ideas. haha

SNFF 2007 12 16 GP7B project continues: Not the greatest job, but I learned a lot for future projects, and I made peace with the outcome be deciding that from normal N scale viewing distances, it'll look OK: Later on, when I have more time, I'll update the step by step 'experiences' thread over at: Des Plaines GP7B kit - any experiences to share? with some more details on how I got here, and what I learned.
