Got a few minutes of your holidays left, but can't get motivated to work on your models? Sounds like

you need a 5 minute modeler project. Here's one that's easy and quick:

The as shipped Marklin passenger cars look good enough, but 5 minutes with a Sharpie can turn them

    from acceptable to desirable.

Enhance your Marklin passenger cars with a silver or black sharpie, just remove the window glazing and

mark the raised window frames with the sharpie.

After the sharpie window frame trick, the cars look so much better. 5 minutes per car!

Geez, that is a really sharp quick improvement. It's funny to see the silver sharpie as it was only the other day that I was in the craft store when I realized a large collection of coloured markers. I bought a really nice, very fine tipped, version in white I am going to try and use for window mullions.
    Cheers

Robert, that is big improvement on the Marklin passenger cars. I am also working on improving the looks of my passenger cars, but in my case, I am trying to improve the look of the cab car in the Surfliner set. I am adding a snowplow and rearview mirrors. The snow plow that I got from Gerd looks about right.

Good and simple idea! Makes a mass product look like a small series. Thanks for sharing this tip.

Looks great John! Now all you have to do is in the lower silver panel of the door, mount a 5 chime horn, and paint it black!

Robert, the honrn is just above the coupler. I was surprice that AZL included that detail. There is also handicap sticker in the door. Its amazing how much detail they included in this set. Since its the holiday, I finally found couple of minutes to make a video.

Cool video John! That's the first time I seen all the way around your layout! You have tons of cool custom models on it! Keep up the great modeling and videos! [IMG]

Dude, you rawk. I am so appreciative of the five minute modeler mindset. Although, I though it was the ADD modeler club.
