Have any of you guys purchased Train Cat's double track straight open floor through girder bridge? Did you find that your missing 1/2 of the stringer details and caps? The kit I purchased from Tex-N-Rails came a few day ago in the mail and I started to assemble the bridge. It is a beauty but it looks like when he converted it to be a double track he forgot to change the fret to include the additional necessary parts. If he does not correct this omission i could not recommend this kit to anyone! I have been trying to contact Bob Knight but he does not return emails or his spam blocker kill the messages I have been trying to send him. Cant really return the kit since it is almost 3/4 complete but I cannot go forwards with the additional details. argh!!! Does any one have some contact information for Bob so I can contact him? Please send me a private message or have him get in touch with me here at the forum. Outside of this major omission it is a good looking bride to compliment micron arts bridges. Thanks stu sonta
I just got my double track straight open floor through girder bridge kit last Friday, but I have not had a free moment to look at it yet. It has 2 large sheets of parts. Does that sound like the kit you got? When i opened the box, the instructions fell out and I did not notice, so i thought I had no instructions. I just found the instructions yesterday, but have not read through them. I am sure Bob will reply, but at this time of year it might take a couple weeks. Too many back to back train shows often leave no time catch up on all the emails. If my kit is the same as your's, then I will need to contact Bob too!
Sounds like the same kit. The one fret had "TCM-34 rev 3" etched on the side. There are not enough of the u-shaped stringer details. I need an additional 36 of them to finish the kit. There are not enough of them on the fret! There are not enough of the stringer caps to finish the kit There are 26 stringer caps. Again we need an additional 22 of theses to finish the kit. There are 12 etched parts which are the same size as the stringer cap but have an etched slot in them . Where do these go?. Cannot find any reference in the instructions. I have built the N-scale kit of the 2 track girder bridge and it went together like a dream, no problems what so ever.
