Said it can pull a full consist of Broadway Ltd passenger cars. Now lets hear more about the consist! This is all good!
Kato has in the past , and continues to earn our respect . If every loco produced by all the other manufacturers looked and worked as well as a Kato we N scalers would have some awesome loco rosters .
It does look like the cat's meow! Got to have one! Do you think this has dual motors or just a single?
This is one locomotive (motor, actually) that I have absolutely no use for. How many should I get? 3? 5?
I loved GG1's, and they're about the right era. Unfortunately my freelanced road has zero overhead cat or electrified 3rd rail. And GG1's never operated within a couple thousand miles of here. I suppose it would be stretching the bounds of imagineering to cut off the pantographs and graft on a couple of exhaust stacks, huh? :worried: Think there's room for a cooling fan on top? Guess I'll have to take a pass. Too bad. .
How very cool. Major kudos to Kato! I hope an early sell out will encourage them to do some other eastern road prototypes as well.
Ouch! I'm going to have to buy one. But that's not the major ouchie! I'm just going to have to extend the layout through the wall for the electrified district.
Sounds wonderful, a dream come true. Though, I question the ability for overhead feed. The writeup stated a three-position pantograph, Down, Medium, and High. That doesn't sound like it can follow wire, which may mean the pantograph is not insulated.....? Apparently this was announced last July at the RailFair...anybody know anything about that?
Think Thrommer! Dave Leonard I expect that for the price it will be one motor J Long and Steam Donkey, I'll be doing one of my 3 up in "Pink Fox Lines" Ed M Come on - That's a great idea about the mod but Really - You _need_ one! Nobody need be watching when you run it. I'll be using 2 of mine in "Grain Train" service. Think: "Thrommer" Bob - It would be great to have others but I doubt it. Pete - What's your point? oooh, right, you don't live alone. ok, ok. fine Hytec - ya, I doubt they will feed off the overhead hence my invetion of the "Thrommer".
