Not my first time here, have poked around for a couple of years now. I've usually popped in from a link to the pics of the week. Spend much of my time on the other forums. I see many of the familiar "faces" here as well. Those that don't know me, I model B&O and Chessie (some WM and C&O). I haven't bothered with a home layout since getting back into the hobby some 16 years ago. I belong to a rather large club in Hingham, MA South Shore Model RR Club http://www.ssmrc.org/ This has kept me quite busy for many years. Our layout is about 1/3 completed, we still have a long way to go. I enjoy doing scenery, some trackwork. With 60+ members there's a lot to go around. A couple of pics to check it out. http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s158/bogp40/train club/trainclub005.jpg http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s158/bogp40/train club/trainclub014.jpg http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s158/bogp40/train club/trainclub2020.jpg Looking forward to a new place to hang out. Thanks, Bob K.
Hey Bob, welcome aboard here at TrainBoard. "Spend much of my time on the other forums. I see many of the familiar "faces" here as well." We know each other from the Coffee Shop/Diner thread over on the MRR forum. Nice to see you participating over here. Regards Ed
Welcome to Trainboard, Bob. That club layout looks immense. Being in MA, do any of your members model the Boston and Albany? :tb-confused:
Of the 60+ members, we pretty much cover the RR spectrum. Quite a few B&M, BAR, NH, CSX (yuk), Conrail, CNW, and of coarse the UP, BNSF and other popular roads. One member dabbles in the B&A though. I'm lucky being the only B&O and Chessie modeler. One other member does a few Chessie pieces in C&O and WM. Bob K.
I didn't want to pile a ton of pics in the first post. Many of these pics are almost a year old now. The guys at train.com are probably getting tired of them. Time to take more, there's been a lot of progress in the layout. Engine facility and turntable is coming along http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s158/bogp40/train club/trainclub007.jpg One of the first areas to be sceniced http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s158/bogp40/train club/trainclub031.jpg http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s158/bogp40/train club/trainclub013.jpg Both ends are finished, but the hill is dragging along waiting trees, trees and more trees... http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s158/bogp40/train club/trainclub2004.jpg My co-chair in the scenery, he does some great work. http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s158/bogp40/train club/trainclub2017.jpg Showing off my passenger http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s158/bogp40/train club/trainclub2024.jpg Built this ME viaduct 2 years ago, will probably be a year to finish this end http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s158/bogp40/train club/trainclub2047.jpg After our show in a few weeks, we should be able to jump back into the layout work. Bob K.
Really nice pictures. If photobucket won't let you post them here (only a link), you could use RailImages. Thanks for posting those.
Bob, Thanks for posting the links to the pictures. I've long been a fan of your Club's work. I especially like the massive big city effect you have mastered. You guys are on a par with George Sellios!:thumbs_up::thumbs_up: Your post of a photobucket picture will show up as a picture or slide show if you select the bottom URL labeled "IMG Code - Forums & Bulletin Boards" on Photobucket. I'm a real fan of Photobucket because of the large image size of the pictures typically gives me lots of detail. Thanks again for posting your club pictures!
