Which type of caboose Blane? Different styles will have different lengths. :)

    Hi Blane,

Atlas #35635 Cupola Caboose with original Accumate couplers:

    coupler-to coupler (including trip pins) - 3"
    coupler-to-coupler (not including trip pins - 2 7/8"

    Hope this helps.

Interesting but curious question. I'm in no place to measure but I'd love to know why you ask. Perhaps there is something subtle we can assist with.

I am going to do an n scale layout and in the yard I'm modeling the caboose track holds 6 cabooses and I don't have one yet. That was the reason I needed to know.Hope to have photos of the yard in a couple months. Thanks for all the help.

If you are planning on six cabooses, make the track long enough to hold eight. Believe me, you will eventually need it.
