This will be an insane weekend. We have the Cub Scout Blue & Gold Banquet tomorrow. My son has a basketball playoff game on Sunday and my daughter has a regular season game also. We also need to fit in the grocery shopping. We are also supposed to be dealing with 1½ to 3 inches of rain which could create some big time flooding problems. If I ever get down to the basement and I am not cleaning up water from this weekend’s predicated flooding rains I need to put some stuff away and tidy up the layout. I then need to look over the pile on the workbench and choose the next project.
Wow good luck with all that we only have to worry about a foot and a half of snow again, will it never end.
1.) More work on the Westerfield C&EI car I started last week. Hopefully this weekend I can apply the brake details and piping along w/ the truss rods, queen posts, and turnbuckles. Then the car will dang near be ready for the paint shop. 2.) Finish the F&C M53, B&O round roof box car. That too needs brake rigging on the bottom, but it also needs the corner ladders which are "tricky" on that model. The have to be cut and modified to replicate the prototype. Once done, that ALSO goes in-line for the paint shop. 3.) Install 3 Tortoise machines that did not get done last weekend. 4.) Sort out the window details for the American Brewery which is on-going at my workbench. The window details need to be separated from all other parts so they can hit the spray booth for a coat of "green". (Probably Southern Green, or something close.. whatever I have on hand) 5.) More decaling, time permitting. Another ambitious weekend considering I have other "obligations" outside the trainroom. Again, If I get half or most done, I will be happy. The good news is we should get some well needed rain this weekend so my plans outdoors just got shifted to modeling time.
Measurments it is my _intent_ to measure: The various areas for scenery and buildings. The tabel for cross brasing so I can move it away from the wall The wall so I can put up a backdrop key word: "intent"
No modeling, preparing for the travel to Sinsheim. I participate in the Faszination Modellbau Sinsheim with my Third Street District. Wolfgang
We're supposed to get a lot of rain, including a flood watch. I have to go out tonight, so I hope the roads aren't too messy. On Saturday and Sunday, I hope to get my second mainline track ready to get nailed down.
Wont get much done this weekend, nice weather and the wife is into spring cleanup outside....being I enjoy hot meals and sleeping indoors....it is in my best intrest to gladly help her.....but looking forward as always in seeing everyones work....enjoy ...I gotta go and see where I left that stupid rake last year LOL....John
Oh, please, I hope for some time to at least coat my two stripped locos with primer. I would also like to resume work on my Climax now that I have another 00-90 tap.
Finishing up laying new track and running the North Coast Limited for the first time as a train. Why oh why didn't Walthers produce a smooth-sided observation in the NP livery? I didn't wait, bought an undec obs and a Northern Pacific Rapido (to be delivered) baggage car (Walthers ran out of theirs) that I think will be an even better pick with opening doors, lights, good piping and chains. A set of Stewart F9's will get it underway.
Jeanne's out of town. If I can tear myself away from the willowy 5'10" blondes at the bachelor's party here all weekend, I'll run trains. I may even run them unattended. . . . Uh--sorry I was distracted, the Led Zeppelin is getting too loud! What's the lead singer got over me anyhow? Oh, about two inches and a zillion dollars . . . I'm going to clean up the spots where I "fixed" my track, and run trains for at least four hours a day.
I am still contemplating what I want to do. Since I have next week off (spring break), I may be able to get several projects done depending on the weather.
