ARVADA (AP) - Arvada police say a man will face charges of throwing missiles and endangering public transportation after he allegedly threw a chair at a train. Authorities received a report Sunday of a gun being fired at the train. Officers searched for 90 minutes and were unable to find a gun. They did, however, find 28-year-old Alan Cardenas - who matched a description that witnesses had provided. Arvada police spokeswoman Susan Medina says Cardenas was questioned, and later arrested, after officers found pieces of a broken chair near the tracks.
I threw a snowball at a train this weekend...Does that make me guilty of "missile" throwing? BTW it was at a freight car, not the locomotive window. I think I'm in the clear, but what posseses one to hurl a lazy boy at a train?

I left off the smilies on my last post, and may have caused confusion. The last posting I left on this thread, about reporting two people to the FRA over a snowball, was meant tongue-in-cheek. That's why the alleged email address is totally made up. I have gotten one PM about this already and so I thought I should clear the air here. I would report someone who had thrown a snowball packed with explosives, or a chair, or an explosive chair. A simple snowball aimed at a freight car would not cause any alarm to me, unless it was to the side of an admittedly fragile Great Norther sky blue goat emblem woodchip car.
Possibly insane, but if he's had to deal with Arvada's city *cough* leadership, he's held onto his sanity remarkably well. :tb-tongue:
